How to Get Accurate Builder Quotes in the UK
Write a clear brief
List exactly what you want done, the finishes, and who supplies materials. Quotes for different jobs can't be compared.
Itemise
Ask for labour, materials, waste removal and VAT on separate lines. Hidden extras usually sit in what's left out.
Check the trade
Look for recognised schemes such as Gas Safe, NICEIC, TrustMark or the FMB, and ask for recent references.
Payments
